Homage to the Triple Gem

Pali Text: Araham Samma Sambuddho Bhagava, Buddham Bhagavanta Abivademi. Svakkhato Bhagavata Dhammo, Dhammam Namassami. Supatipanno Bhagavato Savakasangho, Sangham Namami.

This chant concludes many Theravada Buddhist ceremonies. The monks and laity bow after each line. The words are translatable as: "The Exalted One, pure, perfectly enlightened by his own effort, I bow before the Buddha, the Exalted One. The Dhamma well-expounded by the Exalted One, I bow before the Dhamma. The Blessed One's disciples who have practiced well, I bow before the Sangha."

This audio clip was recorded at the Wat Pah Nanachat Monastery in Eastern Thailand.

Homage to the Buddha
